PLEASE NOTE:
"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Are African Violets poisonous to dogs?

QUESTION:
Are African Violets poisionious to dogs?

ANSWER:

African Violets are pretty darned non-toxic there are no reports of any symptoms caused by eating this plant. In a screening survey of questionable relevance, very large doses of extracts of this plant were injected with needles into animals and some of them died, so the plant is listed as potentially toxic, but I just wouldn't worry about it.
