BRIEF: Are oak trees poisonous to goats?
QUESTION:
Do you know if oak trees are toxis to goats in any way?
ANSWER:
Goats usually do very well brosing oaks. Some of the less digestible species may
not result in optimum performance if there are no other feeds around. Cattle
sometimes have a problem with the tannins present in spring buds and certain types
of acorns when it is eaten as the sole feed, but I am not aware of this being a
problem for goats.
